How do I log in or reset my password?


To log-in to your American Ancestors account, select "Log-In" in the upper right corner of the screen. If you are using a mobile device, this will appear at three horizontal bars. Click on the horizontal bars and select "Log In" at the bottom of the menu. Please see the images below for reference.

If you have forgotten your login, you can reset your password by following these steps: 

  1. Once on the login page, select “Forgot Password?” to open window that prompts you to enter your email address. 
  2. Check your email inbox for an email with the subject line “Password Reset Request from My.AmericanAncestors.org” and click the “Reset Password” link in that email. 
  3. Enter your new password. Your password must include the following: Between 12-32 characters, 1 uppercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character. 
  4. Enter your password again in the “Confirm Password” box and click “Save Changes” 
  5. Once you have successfully updated your password, click “Log In Now” to enter your email address and new password.
